Myths are more than a source of entertainment; they are also a gateway into different realms. Myths build a bridge between the known and unknown, a way of trying to understand ourselves and the world around us. In exploring this concept, my interest lies in researching the realms of Greek and African Mythology. My research is based on comparing and contrasting the two. While Greek and African myths circulate through different cultures, both offer lessons about four concepts: economics, politics, spirituality, and nature. The objective is to take this research and turn it into something more modern. My senior capstone project is to take what I’ve discovered and transform it into a playable game 2 in 1. I will be playing a series of exquisite corpse games with other people to gather the drawings for a tarot deck. A drawing/interpretation game that develops into fortune-telling. Both are based on the four concepts and express the similarities and differences between Greek and African Mythology.
